India’s missing-pet finder.
When a pet goes missing the first few hours matter most. Pugmark puts your report in front of the people who are actually nearby — right away — and lets anyone who spots an animal check it against every listing without sending the photo anywhere.
Pugmark is on Google Play’s closed testing track right now, which has no public store page. The public listing goes here the day it opens. Want in as a tester? Ask us.
Five things the app does. Each takes under a minute.
Every screenshot below is the real app, not a mock-up.

Report a missing pet
From the home screen, tap report your missing pet. Post it before you head out to search — the listing starts working the moment you submit.
- Add a clear photo — one animal, well lit, filling the frame.
- Confirm roughly where they went missing, or pick it on the map.
- Fill in species, colour and any distinctive markings.
- New reports get a featured spot at the top of the app for 7 days, free.

Spotted a stray? Photograph it
Tap spotted a stray? and take a photo. Pugmark checks it against every missing-pet listing on your phone — your photos are not sent to any outside image-recognition service.
- If something looks close you see it straight away, and can confirm.
- If nothing matches, your report is still posted so an owner searching later can find it.
- The app flags photos that do not appear to contain a dog or cat, so blurry or accidental shots get caught early.

Seen someone’s missing pet? Tell them
Open the listing and tap I’ve seen this pet!. Add a photo of what you saw and where. The owner is notified immediately.
- You do not need to catch the animal — knowing where it was seen is the most useful thing you can do.
- Your phone number stays private unless you deliberately choose to share it.

See what is around you
The around tab is a live map of your area — missing pets, found strays, pets looking for adoption, feeding spots and pet-friendly places, all in one view.
- Filter by category, or by distance from 1 km to anywhere.
- Tap any pin for the full listing and directions.
- Works wherever you are in India — the app names the city it detects.

Stuck? The app answers most things
Tap the ? on the home screen for the built-in help centre. Describe your problem in your own words and it surfaces the closest answers.
- Hand-written answers covering reporting, matching, safety and your account.
- If nothing fits, message us directly from the same screen.
Reuniting a pet usually means meeting a stranger.
A few things worth holding to, whichever side of it you are on.
Meet in the open
A public place, in daylight, and take someone with you if you can.
Never pay up front
Never send money to someone who has only sent you a photo. Anyone insisting on payment before showing you the animal in person is worth walking away from.
Ask something only you know
A detail that is not in your listing — a scar, how they react to their name. A quick way to check someone really has your pet.
A match is a suggestion
Matches suggested by the app are suggestions, not verdicts. Always confirm the animal yourself before handing one over or collecting one.
Something wrong? Report it
Every listing and every profile has a report button, and you can block anyone.
Numbers stay private
Phone numbers are only exchanged once both sides confirm a match — unless you deliberately choose to share yours earlier.

Answers, the same ones the app gives.
All of this is built into Pugmark too, under the ? on the home screen.
My pet just went missing — what do I do first?
Tap “report your missing pet” on the home screen. You will need a clear photo, roughly where they went missing, and a few details like species and colour. Post it before you go out searching — the listing shows on the home feed and the map for everyone nearby, and anyone who spots your pet can report a sighting straight from it.
How does the photo matching actually work?
It runs entirely on your phone. A small model turns each photo into a numeric fingerprint and compares it against the missing-pet listings, so your photos are not sent to any outside image-recognition service. It is a shortlist, not a verdict — always confirm for yourself that it is the right animal before handing one over or collecting one.
When do we exchange phone numbers?
Only after both sides confirm the match. Up to that point neither of you sees the other’s number. You can also choose to show your number earlier by turning on the toggle when reporting a sighting — that one is entirely up to you.
Does Pugmark work outside Bangalore?
Yes. Everything is driven by your actual location, so the feed and the map work wherever you are — the app shows which city it has detected. Bangalore is simply where it started, so that is where you will find the most other users for now.
Do I need an account to use Pugmark?
Not to browse. You can look through the feed and the map without signing in. You will need to verify a phone number to post a report, report a sighting, join a search squad, or claim a match — it is what keeps listings accountable.
How long does my listing stay up?
Until you delete it or mark the pet found. It does not expire on you. New missing-pet reports also get a featured slot at the top of home for the first 7 days, free.
How do I delete my account?
Me → delete account, at the bottom. Type “delete” to confirm. It removes your profile, reports, saved pets, sightings and sign-in immediately, and cannot be undone. Full details on the account deletion page.

Pugmark is one app, built end to end by igotisekai — design, code, maps, on-device matching, store listing and policies. We do the same for other people.
